Festival

FAQs

Gates will open at noon on Monday for those who purchase an additional Monday camping ticket. This only allows access to the camping areas, not to the festival site.

Our new venue at Hopton Court is between two train stations, on two different lines: Kidderminster and Ludlow. Ludlow is closest but depending on where in the country you’re travelling from Kidderminster may be easier to get to.

From both stations you want the 292 bus (from Kidderminster it’ll be heading to Ludlow and vice versa). Unfortunately neither bus stops at the train station so there’s a short walk and importantly we have now discovered there is no Sunday bus service.

Getting to the site:

The stop to get off at is the Crown Inn in Hopton Wafers, from there turn up the hill, right right at the school and it is approximately a 15 minute walk up the hill.

We don’t have detailed instructions of the route to the bus stop in Kidderminster, but from Ludlow train station we’ve got some handy local information (thanks Pam!) Pretty much all stops are request stops so don’t forget to put your hand out!

The quickest way to reach this stop from Ludlow train station is to walk straight through Tesco (opposite the Station) through to the rear entrance of the shop.
Turn left onto Lower Corve Street and walk approximately half way up the hill.
The bus stop is situated between Ginger Antiques and Bistro 7 on the opposite side of the road just below the Compasses pub. This will take approximately 5 minutes from the Station.
There are plenty of eating and drinking options in Ludlow if you have a wait for the bus. If you fancy a beer while waiting for the bus then Ludlow Brewing is 3 minutes away. Walk to the right along the road by the station and take 1st right in front of Aldi, Ludlow Brewing will be in front of you in the old railway building.

Leaving site:

There is no Sunday bus service so if possible we suggest you make arrangements to leave site before you arrive. Please feel free to post on our facebook event page and / or in the PLaY Festival group to sort out lifts, there will also be lift sharing boards by the site office next to the hole in the wall (that’ll make sense on site!)

Taxis:

Ludlow Taxis are quoting £51 for 6 people in an 8 person minibus to Ludlow station and £65 to Kidderminster. Their website is http://www.ludlowtaxis.co.uk and there is £5 off the first order if you register online.

We also have the following list of other taxi and minibus hire firms which are local you may wish to contact:

It wouldn't be PLaY without our hard working and committed volunteer team and we have a number of volunteer roles available. Please bear in mind that we ask volunteers to purchase a ticket first, and a refund will be made once you’ve completed your allocated shifts at the festival. The amount of refund depends on the number of hours you complete, what shifts you do and what aspect you support. To volunteer please email volunteer@play-festival.co.uk.

Our friendly professional SIA badged security staff will also be on site. Please do ask if you need any assistance whilst they are on their patrols or again ask a crew member to radio if you need to speak to them. Our security personnel may use their discretion to search attendees if appropriate.

PLaY will endeavor, as far as it is practicable to do so, to provide a safe environment at the Festival.
